DIFFICULTY: EASY
We love Beyoncé's stylish yet not too heavy makeup. The warm, rich colors suit her very well and give her face that extra glow. If you are around Beyoncé's skin shade, this makeup will suit you very well. Click here to see what shade you are.
Step 1:PREPARING THE SKIN Start by washing your face with a good cleanser adapted to your skin type. Click here to find out what your skin type is. Especially if you have oily skin you want to make sure your skin is clean before applying makeup or it can lead to bacteria growth and unpleasant pimples. Apply a good toner followed by a moisturizer. Click here to see what type of cleanser, toner and moisturizer you need.
Step 2: FOUNDATION: Choose a color that suits you and the texture you want to use depends on your personal tastes.
If you don't have too many imperfections and have healthy skin I recommend you only blend a sheer tinted moisturizer to the forehead, cheeks and chin, blending out in fluid, even strokes with your fingertips.
If you need more coverage, don't choose a too heavy creamy foundations in the summer as they will run under the heat, choose instead liquid foundation...and do opt for the latest craze...mineral makeup. It's so pure you could sleep in and has a high covering power and covers imperfections better than liquid foundation. It has the finish of a powder, but best of all it looks natural and you won't look 'made up'. Mixed woman have a hard time finding foundations that will match their skin tones. We've done hours of research to find the best colors, quality and prices so click here to see which foundation to get if you don't already have one. Click here for tips on how to apply makeup( ex: should you use fingers or a sponge?)
Step 3: EYE BASE: Start by applying a little foundation or transculsent powder to the entire eyelid. The color will stay put for long hours and won't give you panda eyes. Now apply a shimmery copper-brown eye shadow to the entire eyelid using a small oval-shaped brush. This will allow you to easily place color uniformly across the lid. Also, take a brush and dab into loose powder and apply under your eyes a good amount so the excess eyeshadow that falls off your eye-lid doesn't ruin your foundation. You can then wipe this out easily and your foundation will still look perfect.
Step 4: BOTTOM LASHES Use a pointed liner brush, apply a thin band of the same copper-brown you used on the lids to the area just below the bottom eyelashes.
Next, layer over the copper at the inner portion of the eye, just beneath the lower lash line, with a shimmery salmon-pink.
Step 5: EYE-LID Blend a matte chocolate-brown to the crease of each eye using a tapered oval-shaped brush, which will allow you to get right into the crease. Repeat the blend back and forth for a diffused, smooth look.
Apply black-brown pencil eyeliner to the entire inside periphery of the eyelashes. be careful not to irritate your eye.
Step 6: EYE-LASHES Curl both your lashes and apply a thin coat (not too dramatic or you won't get that natural look) of mascara in either black or deep brown.
Step 7: SAY GOODBYE TO SHINE Lightly blot your face with a blotting tissue by placing it flatly onto your skin. This will cut down extra shine. You can use a little bit of powder but make sure it is natural and adapted to your skin. Click here for more information.
Step 8: BLUSH There is a variety of blushes out there I know, and it can be such a torture to just choose. I recommend cream blush as it is oil free and blends perfectly into the skin. Apply to the apples of the cheeks with fingers or sponge (sponge will absorb a lot of product though emptying your products fast), blending upward to the cheekbones.
Step 9: LIPS To achieve low-key yet fresh-looking lip look, apply a sheer berry-beige gloss.
